Quilt-As-You-Go

Here is  "Bowing the Strings"!  A quilt using the quilt-as-you-go method.  I love how the back is finished in different blocks of fabric.  This quilt uses one layer cake, one jelly roll and one sweet roll.  I used yardage so I cut all my strips and layer cakes.  While I was at it I cut some  kits up.

Today was a productive day!  I finished the "Interchangeable 2 Bag" as well.  The idea is that you can slide this  purse from the handles and make a different colour purse to slip on in it's place;  interchanging them to match your outfit.  I haven't make any others to interchange it with yet.  It was a productive day but not that
productive!  I thought it needed a little extra so I made a fabric flower (which matches the lining) to go on it.

Some New Projects!

I just finished making the "Kimberly" purse by Amy Butler.  Cute shape!
This ia a "quilt-as-you-go" lap quilt.  Very easy and fun to put together.  I will post the finished quilt later this afternoon.  The back is very nice as well and it's great the the whole thing is finished all at once.  One quilt I don't have to bring to the long arm quilter's.
When I looked out my deck window this morning  this is what I saw!  The snow and wind we received during the night made a HEART.  Just in time for Valentine's Day.

"Life is Beautiful" cont'd

Here are the first 4 blocks of "Life is Beautiful " block of the month.  You may begin anytime.    I am putting the blocks together "quilt as you go"  so you can see the fabrics.  I will post my progress each month.
Sideways again---I don't know why it does that!    A closer view of two of the blocks so you can see the variation in the embroidery thread and the sentiments.

Life is Beautiful

I'm finally getting organized for the "Life is Beautiful" Block of the Month.  These are some of the purple, tan and green fabrics I am using in this quilt.  Some are Andover--Itsy, Bitsy prints and  some of the fabrics are from Moda-"Lilac Lane".  I love the combination!  The background fabric for the stitchery is a tan "linen look" fabric from Moda.  The embroidery thread is  a variegated purple from DMC.  Check details under "Blockof the Month".
